Terms
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms are between you and Gradsey. Signing in means you agree to them. If you use Gradsey for a business, you agree for that business. Questions go to [email protected].
The service
- Gradsey reads your Stripe account with a read-only key you make, shows which customers are slipping away and what each is worth, and emails you a summary each day at the hour you choose. It never writes to Stripe and never emails your customers.
- It is free during the beta. If that changes you will hear about it first, and nothing is charged without your agreement.
- It is a beta: features change, and there can be bugs and downtime. Amounts are worked out from what Stripe returns and leave out tax, so check them in Stripe before relying on them.
Your part
- Add keys only for Stripe accounts you are allowed to read.
- Keep your Google account secure: whoever signs in with it sees your dashboard.
- The emails you send your customers from Gradsey’s drafts are yours. You decide whether to send them, and you need a lawful reason to contact those people.
- Don’t try to break into, overload or get around the limits of the service.
Your customers’ data
This section is the data processing agreement that GDPR (Article 28) requires, because Gradsey handles your customers’ personal data for you. You are the controller of that data; Gradsey is your processor.
- What and whose. Your Stripe customers’ names, email addresses, plans, amounts, payment status and anything they wrote when cancelling, as Stripe returns them to your key.
- Why and for how long. Only to show you your reports and send you the morning email, for as long as your key stays in Gradsey. Adding a key, scanning, choosing what the morning email covers and marking customers contacted are your instructions; Gradsey does nothing else with the data unless the law requires it, and then tells you first unless the law forbids that.
- Who sees it. Only the person who runs Gradsey, who keeps it confidential.
- Security. Keys, your email, stored scans and your customers’ names and emails are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) inside the database, which is itself encrypted at rest, and stay encrypted in its nightly backup. Keys are never shown back in full, traffic runs over HTTPS, and the key can only read.
- Sub-processors. The services listed on the privacy page, and you agree to them. Each is bound by data protection terms of its own. A new one is announced to you before it is used, so you can object or leave. Some are in the US; those transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Helping you. If one of your customers asks you for their data or for it to be deleted, Gradsey helps you answer, and helps with your own security and data protection duties where it can.
- Breaches. If your data is exposed, Gradsey tells you without undue delay, with what it knows.
- At the end. Removing a key deletes its stored scan and contacted marks at once, and closing your account deletes everything; the nightly backup drops them when it is next replaced. The data is a copy of what is in your Stripe account, so there is nothing to hand back; it is deleted, not returned.
- Proof. Gradsey answers your questions about how it meets these terms, in writing, and allows a reasonable audit on reasonable notice.
Ending
- You can stop at any time. Remove your keys under Profiles; to close your account, write to [email protected].
- Gradsey can suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk. If Gradsey shuts down, you will hear at least 30 days before, and all data is deleted.
Liability
Gradsey is provided as it is, without warranties. As far as the law allows, Gradsey is not liable for lost revenue or indirect losses, and total liability is limited to what you paid in the 12 months before the claim — nothing, during the beta. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes too, and a change that matters is emailed to you before it applies.
